Zinc oxide mainly exists in the form of white powder or red zinc ore. White, light yellow powder or hexagonal crystal. Odorless. Bitter taste. It can be sublimated under normal pressure. Can absorb carbon dioxide in the air. The color turns yellow when heated to 300°C, but turns white again after cooling. Soluble in dilute acetic acid, mineral acid, ammonia, ammonium carbonate and sodium hydroxide solution, almost insoluble in water. Zinc oxide is a commonly used chemical additive, which is widely used in the production of plastics, silicate products, synthetic rubber, lubricants, paints, ointments, adhesives, food, batteries, flame retardants and other products.
