C9 Petroleum resin
C9 petroleum resin is the main raw material of the by-product C9 fraction of the cracking ethylene plant, polymerized in the presence of a catalyst, or copolymerized with aldehydes, aromatics, and terpene compounds to prepare thermoplastic resins.
It has the characteristics of low acid value, good miscibility, water resistance, ethanol resistance and chemical resistance. It is chemically stable to acid and alkali, and has the characteristics of good viscosity adjustment and thermal stability. Since the structure of C9 petroleum resin does not contain polar groups, it has good water resistance, acid and alkali resistance, weather resistance and light aging resistance, good solubility in organic solvents, and good compatibility with other resins. It also has brittleness, viscosity increasing, cohesiveness and plasticity. Mainly used in coatings, rubber additives, paper additives, inks and adhesives, etc.
